Can you guess who the attentive ‘big sister’ at the left is? You might be surprised to learn that it’s Pika Pika! Although she remains the most spoiled member of the Voi herd, some new additions have really brought out her nurturing side. As the drought takes its toll on Tsavo, we have been called to rescue a number of orphaned elephants. While the smaller babies are flown up to our Nairobi Nursery, some of the older rescues have gone directly to our Voi Reintegration Unit. This is a very exciting development for our Voi herd — they can’t quite believe their luck to have such young babies in their midst! At centre is one of our latest additions, who we are excited to introduce in due course.
