Bend those babies! One of the most common things I notice from beginner skaters is stiffness (which is totally understandable because being on wheels is challenging and new)! We all feel this tenseness when we start out, and that’s okay! Falling on your butt because your legs are too straight is basically a right of passage haha. But if you wanna get through this phase quickly, practice getting low in a squat when you skate. These bent knees and low position will help you control your balance with a lower center of gravity and allow you to fall with less fear because you’ll only be falling a foot or two instead of 5 or 6 if you’re standing straight up.
