What a full-circle moment this move to Copenhagen has been!
My love of food started at home, with my mom’s baklava shared with friends during the holidays and my dad making batches of inari on Saturday mornings. That also meant I never missed anything Anthony Bourdain made, and it was a 2013 episode of Parts Unknown that first introduced me to noma. From that moment, dining there became a goal.
In 2018, I joined the waitlist for Ocean Season, booked a flight, and crossed my fingers. Just days before flying, I secured my spot at the shared table. I’ve written, spoken, and even had artwork made about that special evening. I dined again in 2022, and during that trip, things clicked. Copenhagen in September, incredible food, and rewatching Bourdain, I knew a move abroad needed be to Copenhagen.
So, I wrote about our baklava, the episode, and visiting noma in my application essay to CBS, and it dominated my admissions interview.
A few months into my MBA, that same essay helped me introduce myself to the incredible @lenahennessymusic and @markemilh, who were just about to start looking for an intern. On my first day, I learned about what’s coming next, including the upcoming season in Los Angeles, and I knew I was in the right place!
These past months, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside the most kind, talented, and passionate team, in what has been a dream internship...
And I never expected that 6.5 years after dining at noma for the first time, I would get to share that I have joined the team as noma group’s Business Development Manager, working to bring together the team’s vision and partners across all parts of the business. I cannot wait for you to see it all come together!
First up, Los Angeles! See you back home 🌴
