Ahhh we made it to Machu Picchu, a literal dream come true! The logistics of getting here can be kind of tricky. Tickets usually sell out well in advance especially during peak season (July-August) as only roughly 2,200 foreigner tickets are allowed to be sold each day with the new visitor restrictions put in place to preserve the site. There are 4 circuits (routes) available when buying your ticket. We did circuit 2, the longest route, giving us the most varying views of Macchu Picchu. Unless you’re doing the Inca Trail hike to get here you need to take a train (and there are a few options to choose from but we took the Vistadome on the Peru Rail), then take a bus, hire a local guide, and get separate tickets if you want to hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain peak. Thankfully when traveling with @adventuresbydisney they take care of all of this, we just had to meet in the lobby of our hotel with our passports (required to enter Machu Picchu) and everything else was taken care of. Have you been to Machu Picchu? Or any of the new 7 Wonders of the World? Which one have you enjoyed the most? Any questions? Don’t forget to save and share this post!
