This month we have Laguna's very own, Jackson Christy! If you know him, you love him and if you don't... you sure will. This guy has a heart of gold and knows the ins and outs of the Hobie lifestyle. Local or visiting, Jackson will always welcome you into the Hobie family and greet you with a smile. If you're really lucky, you might catch a quick sports fact, movie quote, or a joke bound to make you chuckle. If not in the shop... catch him on the golf course, catching a quick bite at La Sirena, or hitting up Woods cove for a beach day. Here is the scoop on the man himself! • Q: How long have you been with Hobie? A: I started back when I was just a Freshman at Laguna Beach High School, way back in 2006. One of my relatives by marriage is Hobart “Hobie” Alter. I’ve worked in different stores over the years, but Hobie Laguna is my home store. For me, it's carrying on a Legacy. Hobie was a uniquely gifted innovator and his joyful personality was contagious. Q: Favorite thing about the store/ or part of the store. A: We’ve got a little history zone, amongst our incredible hand-shaped surfboards. Also, we’ve got a Tiki Bar (built by our Warehouse manager, Craig Dunlap) built into our store. When we have events, those are a couple fun spots to hang out in. I love the interaction with so many customers. Q: Favorite products we carry & why? A: I love the brands Patagonia and Florence Marine X. I think with the way Yvon Chouinard his company has partnered up with our environment, as well as their quality and warmth.
