In a Montessori classroom, most materials serve a specific purpose and are used in a particular way. But in the Montessori home, we hold creative license to do what suits our families 🙂*SAVE* this reminder! In our household, we try to be intentional about what materials we bring in and actually LOOK for materials that have loose parts that can be used in multiple ways. Why? It takes up less space, costs less and your child gets more out of their well loved playthings! It also inspires creativity as you think of different ways to use the pieces to extend the play! We love this Land & Sky Puzzle 🧩 because there are two pieces of each color, which makes this a great color matching activity, and since each piece is a different shape, this really isolates the concept!
