I recently signed up for a free trial of a new streaming service so I could watch something new. After browsing for a wee minute, I stumbled across What Not To Wear. Ah! The nostalgia! I remember *loving* the show 20 years ago and thought it would be an awesome binge for the week. Turns out I unlocked new levels of cringe. Watching people be secretly filmed for dressing poorly, being made to throw all their clothes away, and then be told what is trendy and what isn't gave me the heebie jeebies. Even moreso when the "ugly" stuff they threw out is all "super fashun" now. America's Next Top Model. What Not To Wear. Wife Swap. Extreme Makeover. The Apprentice. I remember planning my work week in high school around ANTM episodes. Watching now makes me feel sick. Tyra terrorized those women and the entire show is an advertisement for an eating disorder... What other shows have aged like milk? (Sidenote: am I the only one who thinks it's absolutely wild that The Golden Girls were in their 50's when the show aired, the same age Jennifer Lopez is now?
