One of the most important days of the year is today. World Ranger Day. 10 months ago I had the privilege of living alongside wildlife rangers for a few weeks with Big Life Foundation... I wanted to understand and see for myself. It’s intense, it’s real, it’s complicated, it’s scary, it’s sad, it’s dangerous, it’s risky, it’s very hard work.. But at the same time it’s rewarding, fulfilling, meaningful, and most importantly 100% necessary in order to save many species globally from extinction. We continue to underestimate the catastrophic effects of this will have on me and you.. What wildlife rangers lack is respect & support. For their selflessness, compassion, empathy, courage & strength etc...To wake up every day, knowing they are risking their lives to save animals. For me, for you, your kids, and your kids, kids.
