I think one of the biggest lies we’ve been told is that we can only feel one thing at a time. What I'm finally learning though is that opposite emotions and experiences can absolutely exist at the same time. Contentment for what is and inexplicable nostalgia for what was. The joy of life and the grief of loss(es). The acceptance of how the world is and the willingness to change it. The disappointment of things not going our way and gratitude for taking us exactly where we need to be. Being exhausted and at the same time incredibly fulfilled. Feeling like crap but also knowing how damn lucky we are. Being okay with where we're at but also knowing (and working towards) where we'd like to be. And I think accepting that these polarities exist and don't take away from each other is one of the biggest lessons not just of 2021 but of all my 33 years in this form. I hope that you know that whatever you're feeling today—and any day of the year—is okay, even if you're feeling a bazillion different things. Sending love, K ♥︎
