This #VeteransDay, we’re reflecting being in the parks with the San Francisco VA’s W.A.R.I.O.R. (Wellness and Resilience Incorporating Outdoor Recreation) program. Recently, as part of Presidio Tunnel Tops Opening Season, we held a Welcome Back Wellness Walk for Veterans, with a guided walk, picnic, and natural and cultural interpretation of the site for SFVA Veteran patients and family members. "It was special to see Veteran patients of all identities and abilities clearly enjoying the physical, mental, and social health and wellness benefits of time spent outdoors together," said Mark Smith, Veterans Health Education Coordinator with the San Francisco VA.
