Grandma’s recipe for a Bara Brith (Welsh for speckled bread) - she tells me she used to always make an Irish Tea Brack (served warm and slathered in butter) to accompany a cup of tea but finds the bara Brith much more practical. The tea brack requires you soak the fruit in the tea overnight whereas to make the Bara brith you just boil them in the tea for 3 minutes. Special thanks to Mr Kendal who gave her the recipe and has since saved Grandma countless hours waiting for fruit to soak. So there you have it
