Going over Togwotee Pass east of Grand Teton National Park is stunning. You have views of The Pinnacles near Brooks Lake before the terrain ultimately gives way to the monstrous granite teets on the horizon. I know Yellowstone gets a lot of love, and for what it is, rightfully so. But those mountains, I don’t know if there’s a more stunning view in all of the United States. Granted these aren’t the most amazing pictures of them, and I didn’t even hike them or approach them, but no matter where you are. you are awe struck by them. I’ve spent plenty of time in these mountains before, but I’ve never bathed in a lake at sunset in front of them. I was filthy after a long day of riding 82 miles with fresh wounds on my elbow and hip. The mosquitos were positively dreadful. And I camped in a campground that seems to have every tourist and Boy Scout troop that ever existed in attendance. It was worth the hot meals and sodas that I consumed while I was there in Colter Bay. Hard to believe that I would already be riding out of Wyoming, my third state, and into Idaho the next day. @gaiagps @ridepriority @mountainsmith
