Watching @womentalkingfilm filled me with equal parts joy and sadness. Joy for the fact that this movie was made and shows the world how dangerous it is when religion and God are used as excuses to make women subservient to men...And sadness for the very same reason. We have a long way to go. These women told the truth and weren't believed, which makes their abuse all the more excruciating. I pray and hope that one day a woman's word will hold as much weight as a man's. That one day, all women will rise up and demand Equality. Thank you to the producer Dede Gardner, writer/director @realsarahpolley, and all of the brilliant actors; Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, Judith Ivey, Ben Wishaw, and Frances McDormand. And of course, the author, Miriam Towes, for bringing this story to the world and for doing so with such grace and beauty. #womentalking
