Gig’s a gig? — life sized rug paying homage to American gig workers and their struggle for health benefits, higher wages, and safer working conditions. Tufted with @maritimefamilyfiber, salvaged acrylic yarn, and secondhand merino. I have so much gratitude to the carpet manufacturers who have worked with me to finish the edges of such a complicated, untraditional, and abstract piece. This rug is not only a narrative of the working class but also documents the challenges of rug binding in an old world industry.
