Ask us your questions about the Moon! This Saturday, Oct. 1, is International Observe the Moon Night! This is a time to come together with fellow Moon enthusiasts to learn about lunar science and exploration, take part in celestial observations, and honor cultural and personal connections to the Moon. Comment your questions and NASA Moon experts will answer! Our experts include: Dr. Dan Moriarty (Image 2): A lunar geologist who uses satellite data to plan missions and unravel the history of the Moon. Dr. Prabal Saxena (Image 3): A planetary scientist at Goddard who studies how the Moon’s surface has recorded the history of the solar system and beyond. He is interested in how to explore the surface of the Moon sustainably and what the Moon can tell us about the ancient Sun and Earth. He’s excited about how NASA’s #Artemis missions will help us learn more about them. Dr. Sarah Valencia (Image 4): A lunar geologist at the University of Maryland College Park and Goddard through the Center for Research and Exploration in Space Science and Technology II program. Her research focuses on the formation and evolution of igneous lunar rocks using both lunar sample analysis and remote sensing techniques.
