This Friday is Orange Shirt Day, and the second annual National Day of Truth and Reconciliation in Canada.
To mark this important day, Tim Hortons is supporting Indigenous communities with an Orange Sprinkle Donut fundraiser. On September 30, 100% of proceeds from sales of each donut will go towards four Indigenous-run charities across the country - the Orange Shirt Society, the Indian Residential Schools Survivors Society, the James Smith Cree Nation Trust Fund and La Fondation Nouveaux Sentiers in Quebec. This initiative was started last year by Indigenous restaurant owners, who worked with Tims to bring the fundraiser to life.
Buying an Orange Sprinkle Donut on September 30 is a way to continue the conversation around the impact of residential schools, and to support organizations that work tirelessly to champion Indigenous voices across the country.
Remember to wear orange on September 30th and please keep doing the work Indigenous people are asking, it’s important so we can all move forward in a good way. #ad #timhortons #orangeshirtday
