The new Aladdin opened August 2000 — aka Planet Hollywood since 2007. The two smaller wings in front of this mega hotel were apparently a reference to the design of the old Aladdin’s 1976 tower which was demolished on this site in 1998. The dome behind the hotel is the Aladdin Theatre for the Performing Arts, aka Zappos Theater. This was part of a promo film that played in hotel rooms. There was no credit for this section but several of these time lapse construction films were made in the 90s-00s by Robert Scott Hooper’s Timeflix.
