Fresh from the mud bath, Kerrio is treating herself to an extra spa treatment! She deserves it: Behind this cute-as-a-button face is a remarkable story of survival. Kerrio was rescued last August, after gunfire sent her herd stampeding in terror. In the chaos, she was left behind. Upon her arrival at the Nursery, we discovered that Kerrio’s hind legs were almost lifeless, wobbling hopelessly when she tried to put weight on them. However, she’s a plucky elephant, and she slowly but surely regained full mobility. Today, Kerrio is thriving. In fact, she is even becoming a mini nanny to the youngest orphans at the Nursery!
