@instagram Multidisciplinary artist Dhan Illiani Yusof (@dhanilliani) shares a new series — a reflection of her views on the current fasting practices in Malaysia during Ramadan. “Something we Malaysians share deeply is our love for our food and communal eating,” says Dhan.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ “During this time, the Muslim community heightens activities that extend a direct helping hand by sharing resources, not just with the poor but even with our neighbors, friends and even strangers. It is a beautiful time where we share at our capacity, be it gifting food, donating or gifting fresh clothing for the incoming Eid [al-Fitr] to shelters. It strengthens a shared communal spirit and love.”⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Through her art, Dhan processes her emotions and thoughts. “I approach my art practice to be encompassing of my spiritual practice. It is essentially self-development, how I reflect, reason and understand continuously.
