A lovely chat with @vandanashivamovie, a long time friend of my family’s reminded me of the wave of farmer suicides related to biopiracy and GMO seeds. I talked about it in my Dear Fashion video earlier this year. The power of language and the role we play in constantly challenging the narrative about whose voices matter is a job with no expiration date. Words matter, visual language matters. Thinking of my family and friends in the UK right now experiencing this heat wave. It’s all fun for a a little because who doesn’t like a hot day? But in excess, it’s lethal and scary, and what is worse, this is likely just the beginning which makes our work around climate even more relevant. What is the future we want?
