A gradual transformation is afoot within a Victorian villa in Paisley’s Ferguslie Park district, where students of the Building Arts Programme delivered by The Prince’s Foundation and @qestcraft have been working alongside the talented artisans of @sculpturehousecollective to bring light, warmth and colour to a brilliant community resource. The former council building is slowly being converted into a welcoming space for use by members of the community, many of them young people, to engage in a calendar of activities centred around craft. Three practising artists are based there day to day and are behind the vision to see the building both returned to regular use and used as a community resource. The collaboration with Sculpture House Collective comes at the end of the nine month Building Arts Programme which has seen the seven students explore the role of craft within the built environment. This final project has been an opportunity for the students to create new work and to demonstrate the wide range of skills they have acquired whilst working with leading practitioners during workshops and industry placements over the course of the past year. #crafts #scotland #artisan #interiors #crafttraining
