What a day to be a Hoosier!!! I’m so honored to have been given an Indiana Authors Award for YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN this morning 🥹 CROWN has had such a wonderful life already, but this award has a special place in my heart because the whole book is a love letter to the place that raised me 💕 Congratulations to all the other winners, and many thanks to @inauthorsawards + @inhumanities for their continued support for Indiana writers and work! (Also, the award is amazing and all but the real kicker of the day is the fact that John Green knows my name so) Also, a special shoutout goes to @dudesculpture for making this incredible trophy out of genuine Indiana limestone!!!! I wish y’all could have seen the pure delight on my face when I realized I got to take it home 😂
