Heal the Bay is excited to ANNOUCE🎉 that last Saturday, 💪🏽4,583 volunteers removed 11,298 lbs trash and 313 lbs recyclables from California beaches, streets, neighborhoods, and waterways for Heal the Bay’s 33rd Annual Coastal Cleanup Day. From 9am to noon our volunteers collected debris along 65+ miles all over Los Angeles County from inland locations to underwater dive spots. Although cigarette butts were the most collected item, volunteers picked up everything from laptops and wallets to canvas paintings, and even two fake human skulls! Don’t forget to share your trashy photos and videos with us at #CoastalCleanupDay and check our wrap-up 👉https://healthebay.org/coastalcleanupday/ 🌊A big wave of thank you to all the volunteers who came out and got down and dirty at any of Heal the Bay’s 39 cleanup sites all, from the future site of Inell Woods Park, all the way to Dockweiler State Beach. This event was a huge success because you showed up to protect what you love! Special thanks to our partners Water for LA, the City of Santa Monica, Ocean Conservancy, LAIRD Apparel, Pacific Premier Bank, Kaiser Permanente, Subaru, Audacy, and California Coastal Commission.
