THANK YOU to everyone who came out and had bagels these last few weekends. You brought tons of amazing energy to our little sliver of sidewalk in Culver City, and perhaps most incredibly, you brought a *lot* of patience because we had our asses entirely handed to us!.. In a beautiful way, of course. It’s kinda perfect timing that we’ll be taking this next week off. Not only will we have a chance to rest up and be with our families for the holiday, but we’ll also be in the lab, building a faster and smoother Mustard’s so that when we open back up we’re running a tighter ship and y’all aren’t waiting so long to get your food. We’ll also be bringing more product so that we don’t run out of things so quickly. We hate long lines and long wait times with a fiery passion and will do everything we can to avoid them! While we’re away, we have a few suggestions for your Thanksgiving week: 1. Visit the @cogcoffee roastery location in the Fashion District or @sightglassla, where Mustard’s Bagels are always on the menu. 2. Cook a turkey! But for best results, confit the legs and roast the crown separately. We know this is not traditional, but roasting a turkey whole is kinda like cooking a chicken with two pork chops stapled to it—the dark and white meats need to be cooked differently! Trust. 3. Make a tasty gravy! Then keep it in a vacuum insulated thermos so it stays hot and fresh for hours. 4. Watch a movie with your friends and family after dinner! Some suggestions: “Big Night”, “Moonstruck”, “Hail, Caesar!”, “Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang” or “Across the Spiderverse”. 5. Close your eyes and listen to a great record from start to finish. If you do any of these things, come in and tell us how it went on December 5th, when the ovens will be fired back up and the bagels will be abundant! Happy Thanksgiving everyone. See you in December.
