LEGENDS LIVE FOREVER • Growing up, I used to come into this exact mall with just a 20 on me, my backpack & VIBESSS. @adidas doesn’t even know that, so just take in how amazing and symbolic life can be all on its own. #ShoppersWorld even became my second home for the first few years of my business because it was the closest place I could grab fabric from if I couldn’t make it downtown. Fast forward to now...I’m back but @adidas & @footlockercanada would have it that this time...I see myself up on their walls. This time, they’re honouring Local Legends and I couldn’t be more humbled to be a part of it. Especially because I get to experience it along side 3 other amazing Brampton women. This is my first time seeing myself up in a campaign quite like this one. Especially with brands as notable as @adidas & @footlocker but you know, I can’t say I didn’t see it coming. I’d honestly be a liar. Because I’ve always known I’d be in these spaces...I’ve prayed about it...worked towards it.... Manifested it. Honey, it did not pop out of nowhere. For me, my area of concern would only be when? And some may read that as arrogance- but it’s not. I was born to GET IT. I’m a go-getter. I’ve been working and keeping my head down my whole life. And it’s the confidence in myself that I have never let falter. The same confidence in self that I’ve been teaching y’all to have for YEARS. That same self confidence and overall influence is why I was asked to speak. I’ve always believed in myself because I know what I can do. I know what I’m capable of. I know what I deserve. And I know I’m never going to quit until I get it ALL. I’m just happy that THAT desire and tenacity is FELT. Thank you @adidas & @footlockercanada for having me and for even considering me a Local Legend. I’m honoured. And I just hope that I can always inspire EVERYONE to keep going. To GET UP & go get it.
