🇮🇹ITALY TRAVEL TIPS🇮🇹 Your favorite traveling mamas are back with tips for visiting Italy (save + share this post):
1. The best time to visit Italy is NOW!! April, May, September and October typically see the cheapest flights and hotel costs.
2. The crowds are much smaller these times of year as well which can make a more enjoyable visit.
3. Taking the train is the most popular and easiest way to travel between cities and you can book these in advance on trenitalia.com or at the train station if you’re spontaneous.
4. For places not easily accessible by train, renting a car in Italy is easy, BUT you will need an International Driver’s License. You can obtain one at your nearest AAA office for about $30.
5. While Italy isn’t very conservative, expect to have your shoulders and knees covered when visiting religious sites.
6. If you plan to shop don’t forget you can get your VAT tax refund before leaving!! As long as you spend at least 154.95 EUR per receipt you’re able to receive a refund of up to 22%. You must have your passport when shopping to be eligible!
7. All Italian hotels and airbnbs will charge you tourist taxes at check-in or check-out (even if you prepaid for your stay), so don’t be alarmed. Some places only accept cash for this so be sure to have some on hand.
8. Be sure to follow @oneikatraveller and @thetravelingchild for more tips as we explore Italy, because whew! It was a whooooole movie 💃🏾🇮🇹🥰
Have you been to Italy? If not, is it on your bucket list?
