"VB94" by Vanesaa Beecroft @vanessa.beecroft From 8 December 2022 - 8 January 2023 at the Regional Gallery of Sicily "Palazzo Abatellis" in Palermo @palazzoabatellis The exhibition opened to the public from Thursday 8 December with a performance that took place in the same regional gallery, accompanying the exhibition of unpublished sculptures created by the artist. The installation consists of original sculptures in ceramic, wax and bronze on a wooden base, as a tribute to Renaissance sculptures portraiture. A group of models and a series of previously unseen sculptures, executed by the artist in her Los Angeles studio, were presented as a connection between past and present and between stasis and movement. The artist has designed and executed the sculptures’ bases in refurbished wood. Vanessa Beecroft returns to Palermo for the second time with a project that combines art historical memory with personal artistic experience.
