Even as they sank a little further into the plush sand with each lapping wave, they stood firmly planted on the shores of their ancestors. Facing the future takes incredible courage, especially for our younger generations. The planet is changing; fishnets are turning up empty, plastic is choking out wildlife, and natural disasters are becoming the norm. And yet, looking at these three girls with their boards clutched to their sides, I feel hope. The future will be won through courageous action taken every day as we look toward a better tomorrow.
