Meet Rio Lyon Herd who came roaring into this world on September 3, 2022 at 3pm at @nyphospital Lower Manhattan. I am beyond humbled, empowered and grateful at my birthing experience. I was so terrified of what was to come and somehow ended up having a beautiful experience (and in a hospital nonetheless!). I couldn’t have had a better partner in crime with @devinrossherd. He was the most incredible coach and supporter I could have asked for. Wow, talk about stepping up to the plate. So much so my doctor wanted to hire him for her other births. I also couldn’t have been more blessed with my doctor - Dr. Szilvia Nagy is truly the best in the business. From the start 9 months ago to the end, she empowered me and was by my side. All the staff at NYP was remarkable, making me feel supported and informed every step of the way. Thank you to everyone. It’s been one week with my little miracle and am bowled over with love and gratitude. May he grow strong and powerful like his namesake, the majestic river lions of Africa.
