🧠🌸🐜: I was thinking about how the stylisation of Mayan (and many of my favourite ancient) sculptures looks almost cartoon.. cartoon just means to overload or emphasise. A sacrificial altar or ritual object that looks straight out of looney toons / anime where the reality of the object is not taken into a non-real world, but some real aspect of the subject is cartooned or emphasised.. it’s divinity etc. flower boi and flower stuff I was making was sort of precursor to my current obsession (more than usual) with insects, because I was studying plants and flowers as an escape and imagining living amongst, in and on them as insects do. I was trying to cartoon the urge to shrink my mind.. 🌸🐜 attempting to unify: cutesy-divine cartoon-ancient flower-boi and gothic-bauhauroque-giger-kafkaesque bug-techno-shaman since they really come from the same place.
