Christina and I went on a big mission to make a descent of a new line we named Polar Moon, 1200m, 45 degrees. We approached via the south face Couloir ( incredibly hot and exhausting 🥵(photo 5)) Then dropped into the line on rappel to avoid glacier ice. We then skied to the top of the massive serrac and made two 60m rappells. Our ropes then got stuck by some perplexing and unknown cause so we chopped them and finished the rappells with 10m of rope, rapelling from V-threads. (Photo 3 shows the line of rappells) The lower Couloir skied beautifully and we finished the day by meeting the rest of the team for sunset on the snow mobiles at the fjord.
