Thought it may be time for a bit of a reintroduction! ✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m Brooke! And this account exists to make sustainability more accessible via practical tips and education.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I first got into sustainability in 2018 when I started my own secondhand clothing store. Managing the excess and consequences of unwanted clothes opened my eyes to the need for a better industry and now I view education as a necessary compliment to the work I do in fashion. I’m currently transitioning from my first business and in the planning phase of my next business (you all will be the first to know about it 😊️). In the meantime, I’m a contract-based marketing director.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In college, I studied both entrepreneurship and fine art. I’m a massive fan of all things creative. My specialty is portraiture. I also love to write. But fashion was my first creative love so here we are!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As for some quick facts:
📍 I’m currently based in Kansas City.
📚 I love to learn. Big fan of podcasts, documentaries, & books!
👡 A majority of my wardrobe is vintage— my fav way to shop sustainably!
🎨 My favorite art styles are surrealism, color field, and contemporary portraiture! I also read a lot of poetry and classic literature (speculative fiction is my fav).
💻 I have a website if you’re interested in knowing more. Most of the links in my bio will get you there!Or my personal account is @brooke.m.bowlin
