🫶🏼It’s a special kind of mom guilt spending your day loving on OTHER children instead of your own babies. I love teaching almost as much as I love being a mama, but working mom has been the hardest role I’ve ever had.
If ANYONE is struggling in this space, I’m here for you. I don’t have all the answers BUT I wanted to share a few things that made a difference in helping me find my footing. Fellow working mamas... feel free to leave your tips in the comments, let’s help some friends out❤️
👊🏻My Game Changers:
*Special Morning Routine- so he gets my energy FIRST. (We cuddle and read and sing in bed before I’m too tired to do it whole heartedly after school)
*Changed my childcare... if it feels wrong it’s not just mom guilt, you know your baby best, make a change if you don’t trust your situation
*Working contract hours, yes I used to stay late & no I don’t anymore
*Becoming more efficient at work, I’m less social which is a bummer but it’s a necessary cut I had to make for now
*Giving myself grace on the days I feel I can’t get anything right
*Communicating my needs to my partner BEFORE a busy time (back to school 🤪) so I can get support before it all falls apart
*Spending time /talking with other working mamas who “get it” and are encouraging
*Prep everything the night before, babies are wild and will try to throw you off when you least expect it😂
*Say yes to less, I’m a people pleaser & love to show up for my friends BUT the more down time I have the less overwhelmed I feel now
*Focus on your why. Dawson will grow up watching his mama work hard for his family & make a difference for his community, What a special thing that is ❤️🍎
