I am not the same person I was a year ago. None of us are. There was no way of predicting I would now be directing my first film for a contemporary art museum. What still blows my mind is: The concept Powerhouse and Nowness approached me to create from dealt directly with cochlear implants. I had JUST begun storyboarding. Alignment. The film is a story about isolation and connection. After losing my cochlear implants while traveling through Italy last year, I found freedom within constraints.I began to notice how living as a cyborg life immobilizes my body. Fearful to stick my head out of windows. Jump up and down. Enter strong wind... Worried the machinery behind my ears would fall or break. Worried this might mean I would too. It is a dream to be creating this new work for @powerhousemuseum and @Nowness. It will be premiering internationally in Australia, London, and New York during March this year!
