Shooting an editorial cover is a great honor. Shooting the morning after Emmy’s cover… that is a master class of a trust exercise, the perfect convergence of flexibility and preparation. My first thank you has to go to @aspictures who makes me believe I’m actually cut out for this crazy industry. Then @jenniferdorn at @variety who is the bench mark when it comes to photo editors; producer, creative directing, facilitator extraordinaire. This includes @rmaltz, who whispered over notes most elegantly that were always spot on. Most importantly, he brought the doughnuts, which sustained both crew and talent alike. The talent, none other than his majesty @joshographee, who was a brilliant, cheeky, handsome one. My team was made up of @itsashleypoole and @hishamthemachine building light and @kylepetrozza file wrangling. Sharply styled by @harry_lambert and rapidly groomed by @joannapford. We had no idea who we were shooting until the close of the ceremony the night before. But we did know we had the closed portion in the restaurant of the @ritzcarlton downtown and gear pickup scheduled for 6:30am. On standby to retouch five images overnight ? None other than the absolute wizard that is @angiemariehayes. This is one for the books!
