Big shout-out to @helsinkilambda - a Japanese band who dropped a song full of VW references called “Mitsubishi Macchiato” a couple of months ago.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Go check it out on YouTube. Great song.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This is a note they wrote to their fans explaining the song:⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ You might wonder what “Mitsubishi Macchiato” means, so I will start by explaining this title.⁣⁣ First of all, there is no such thing as a “Mitsubishi Macchiato”.⁣⁣ ⁣ This is taken from the working title that one of my favorite bands, Vampire Weekend, had for their 4th album “Father Of The Bride”, right up until its release.⁣⁣ ⁣ Our working title for this song was actually “5 m(meters)” (though we never told anyone), but once we started to develop the concept of the song, we decided we wanted to write a narrative about a boy and a girl who went to a Vampire Weekend show.⁣⁣ ⁣ The 2nd verse playfully pays tribute & homage to Vampire Weekend’s songs, which is why we decided to borrow the eccentric title “Mitsubishi Macchiato”.⁣ The vibe of the track is quite uptempo, which is another reason why we wanted to give it an unconventional title.
