Family outing to the rally at Washington Square Park last night. Initially, I was hesitant about whether it was “appropriate” for children, but nothing about what’s happening right now is appropriate and ultimately I want my children to be engaged citizens and changemakers. It was incredibly moving taking it in alongside them. Paloma cheered on the marchers. Roman studied all the signs. Even the ones that used the F word. I felt a deep state of sadness that this is where we find ourselves as a country in 2022, but also a sense of community and being united with our fellow New Yorkers. If you are truly pro-life, police guns not women’s bodies, offer universal healthcare and paid family leave, and consider the ramifications of this decision for the impoverished girls and women who will be most impacted by it. Our children deserve much better 💔
