Since starting TCM school & healing my own cycle (our cycles really should be pain free & emotionally balanced), I’ve found myself drawn to women’s health & fertility & pregnancy/labor support. I’ve always felt amazed by how we are literally portals connecting Heaven and Earth via childbearing & childbirth ☯️ Traditional Chinese Medicine has a way of being able to nourish the body to prepare for pregnancy & throughout the trimesters by treating disharmonies like morning sickness, restless fetus syndrome, back pain/ body pain, and even supporting smooth labor in the third trimester. Postpartum care is extremely important (4th trimester) and focuses on replenishing blood, keeping warm and nourishing the mother’s vessel. We also are able to treat mastitis, flow of milk supply & other disharmonies that may arise. ☯️ It was an honor treating one of my best friends from undergrad (and one of the best AT’s I know) to support smooth labor as she’s due in a couple weeks. The point prescription formulated and used is safe once within the 2 week window of delivery (and absolutely should not be used at any other time during pregnancy, beautiful right?) ☯️ Babygirl was pretty still in the womb and I chose to start Faith’s treatment with a point on each foot. Immediately upon insertion, Faith felt her moving all around, and it still kind of has me shook (acupuncture works 😉). Also, how cool is it that Malaya Rose had acupuncture in utero?! Although we didn’t directly treat for insomnia/ sleep, Faith went home and was able to fall asleep easily/ only wake once/ fall back asleep quickly last night. We also treated Daquan to release his spine & back, because dads are important too (gratitude Daquan for your service in the Marine Corps) Gratitude for both of you driving to see and get treated by me. This will always be so special to me & I’ll hold it with me through life, as it was my first pregnant body I’ve treated, and one of my good friends 💓🧿
