Phytophotodermatitis (aka “Margarita burn”) is a reaction that occurs when photosensitizing chemicals present in certain plants and fruits (particularly citrus fruits), are left on the skin and exposed to sunlight. Always be sure to wash your skin after handing limes and lemons when out in the sun. Argyria is a rare condition! The gray or blue discoloration is caused by exposure to or ingestion of silver, which can be found in natural remedies, supplements, etc. Many people don’t even know silver is in the supplements they are ingesting!
