PhotoVogue Festival 2022 is coming! At BASE Milano from November 17 to 20. “The Next Great Fashion Image Makers”: today we introduce @_______niki (Indonesia, based in Singapore). #NikitaYusman is one of the 40 artists selected for this exhibition through our first Global Open Call by an international jury among more than 30,000 images and 3.000 artists from 121 different countries! The open call is endorsed by all the editions of Vogue globally. #NikitaYusman’s project that will be exhibited is titled “Susu”. “Susu” is an intersectional feminist publication that aims to celebrate the diverse and multi-layered Indonesian female identities by confronting social, political, and cultural issues Indonesian women face through a fashion lens. The first issue dives deep into how feminism has progressed in Indonesia through four fashion editorials reflecting the four waves of feminism. From the national hero Kartini, brave members of the Women’s Journals Foundation, renowned performance artist Melati Suryodarmo and inspiring writer and trans advocate Ian Hugen, this project honors trailblazing women who have broken the mold of a traditional Indonesia woman.
