Can you believe @oneikatraveller and I officially met for the first time on our joint spring break trip to Jordan in March this year! Now look at us on our third trip basking in the Italian sun at @chalet_al_foss! We’ve heard stories of drama on girls trips so here are 8 tips for group travel so everyone has an amazing time (SAVE + SHARE) 1. Set clear trip budgets upfront. There’s nothing like planning an entire trip based on X amount of people to find out it’s out of someone’s budget & now everyone else is paying more when they ultimately drop out or get to the destination & say they can’t cover something 🥴. 2. For larger groups have 1-2 group leaders. Too many people trying to be in charge is never a good idea. Plus everyone isn’t a planner and organization is key when planning a group trip. Leaders can delegate tasks if there’s someone that’s really good at one thing like nightlife activities. 3. Set up a central place where everyone can access the trip plans. I personally love Google Docs for this as it updates automatically. 4. Communication is key. During the planning process make sure everyone’s voice is heard. Either ask everyone to provide a list of things they want to do while in the destination, provide options & vote on them. 5. Pssst.... it’s okay if you don’t do everything on together. Even on a group trip it’s still your trip, you paid to be there. If there’s something you really want to do but no one else does do it alone! Oneika left me plenty of times for her 6am runs while I slept in! 6. Flexibility is key! Believe me I’m type A, love itineraries & having a plan but when traveling with a group you have to be flexible. Things come up and if there is a change of plans due to a cancellation or something else out of the groups control when trying to come up with a “plan B” in a group setting everyone needs to be flexible. 7. Easily split bills with apps like Splitwise that way everyone knows who owes who later when one person grabs the tab. Have you traveled with anyone you met on the internet?
