📍Barcelona Day 27 Set an alarm for 6:45am since we have a 12:50 flight today It was hard saying goodbye to Barcelona today. It has been a fantastic 27 days in England/Europe. We stepped outside our hotel to a light drizzle. I told the girls the sky was crying because it didn’t want us to leave. That was the first rain we felt the entire trip! We got extremely lucky with weather on this trip. There were some hot days but being from Texas we were used to the heat. We decided to get to the airport 4 hours early and Thank God we did. The first thing we did was go to the VAT line which was 1 hour long. Turned in our luggage - another hour. Once we got up to the counter the guy offered us $825 a person, a free 4 star hotel room, all meals paid If we stayed in Barcelona one more night - we were tempted but at this point we were already at the airport and just all in the mentality to just get back home. After that we grabbed a quick airport lunch and the security line took an hour as well. Once we got through security They randomly selected me to get checked out again so I had to go to this other area of the airport. Only me. I got a pat down first and they kept asking me to take my shoes, socks & hoodie off and they tested everything I was wearing. The pat down In Barcelona was not like here- they really pat you down and feel all over you. Your breasts, they even open your underwear a little and feel the elastic - I was like what the heck is going on here- nothing gross or violating - I just wasn’t prepared for that kinda pat down. Then they opened my backpack and checked every single thing in there and asked me 1 million questions in Spanish. Once I was done it was time to board so going 4 hours was the perfect amount of time with not a minute to spare for shopping or restrooms (keep that in mind if you’re traveling with kids especially- or going to do the Vat) And that’s a wrap! 27 days in England & Europe! Next stop JFK for a layover and then off to Austin!
