I’m all about those mussels 😍 Freshwater pearl mussels are incredibly rare and are listed as endangered. It was great to go see them whilst up in Northumberland working their bivalve magic filtering a fast flowing river. Did you know they can filter up to 50 litres each day?! They help improve water quality which benefits all other river species, from fish to the otters. Have a great Sunday folks!
