Existing in the in-between spaces of @convergencestation , Collin Parson has created the Light Hallways. Using only three materials, he fabricated an interactive passageway between dimensions. "My fascination with light and it’s perceptual properties guide my work. The installation at Meow Wolf consists of seven standing “portals” that create a perspective effect while also allowing visitors to pass through as they walk the hallway. Each portal has controllable LED lights on each side to allow two different experiences depending on the direction the viewers choose. This light was programmed to slowly phase back and forth while slowly speeding up to a crescendo then back down again. This work (like most of my other work) combines light, color and space allowing viewers to slow down; giving them the opportunity to not only look, but to become part of the piece.
