I bumped into @dedhamsquare legend Kathleen McNeely of “Kathleen’s Kitchen” fame. She shared that she remembered me sitting on the spinning stools at the counter, having my coffee and sketching - 25 years ago. I would leave little drawings for her and she told me that she put one under the glass table top - on a table she called the “fame table” which had signatures of celebrities who dined there. She told me: “One day you’ll be famous!” After 75 books with my name on the cover (I’m still working on it)- we reunited at @horsethievestavern - a block away from where her famed kitchen stood. It is now home to @lalucepastry - great bakery - a previous tenant took out all the old Cole’s Pharmacy touches including the built-in wooden sleeves & drawers, the long counter and row of spinning stools - which Kathleen appreciated and kept intact. It was a special place. They can dismantle physical spaces, but they can’t dismantle our memories. ✨❤️
