Camping in your own backyard: Did you know there are five public campgrounds in your nearby national parks? 🏕🌌🌁
That’s right, you don’t need to leave the Bay Area to pitch a tent, view the stars (or fog, depending on weather), and take in the sounds of the night from any of five public campgrounds right here in the #GGNRA:
📍 Rob Hill Campground in the Presidio
📍 Bicentennial Campground in the Marin Headlands
📍 Hawk Campground in the Marin Headlands
📍 Haypress Campground in Tennesee Valley
📍 Kirby Cove Campground & Picnic Area
Each campground also has different amenities, most don’t have potable water (bring your own!) and only Kirby Cove and Rob Hill have campfire rings. Be sure to check each campground for what you need to bring on your trip. Reservations are required at each campsite. Reservations can be made on recreation.gov up to three months before your arrival and may extend up to two days beyond this 3-month booking window.
