This season has been whirlwind in the best way. From speaking at conferences across the country to spending time in schools and classrooms, it’s been such a gift to do this work face-to-face with so many of you. Sometimes I look at these photos and laugh my hands shoved deep in my pockets for pictures because I never found time to fix the nail situation… red-eye flights home so I could sneak in extra time with my two kids… sending videos to them when I had a spare moment to stay connected…coming home to clingy littles who missed me as much as I missed them. And then I take a breath and remember where I came from, a gal from a family of seven in a tiny farm town in Western New York, who saw gaps in the systems meant to support kids and knew something had to change. I never imagined I’d get to do this work at this scale, or that so many parents, educators, and leaders would say “yes” to shifting the way we support kids’ nervous systems.
