I fell in love with running through @runteamemc This community we have built and all we have raised collectively has been one of my greatest joys. For nearly 15 years, we’ve been showing up at races around the world to raise awareness and funds for maternal health, inspired by the distance so many mothers must go around the world to access basic care. This year, in honor of @everymomcounts’ 15th anniversary, we’re inviting our community to take 15 minutes to move in honor of moms – running, biking, stretching, anything! – and to share your “why” with the community. I hope you’ll join me! So, why do I run? I run because in the average time it takes to run a marathon, 100 women will die from pregnancy or childbirth related complications. I run because 5.6 million women in the U.S. live in counties with limited or no access to a single birthing facility or obstetric care clinician. I run because every mother counts. #15ForEveryMom
