Well Paul... you’ve done it! This first image is a special one. Three childhood mates sharing a private moment seconds after the Fish’s last track at the sold out Sydney show. There would be close to 30,000 people in the background and a hundred friends and staff to the side but in this image it’s just us... three groms from the Goldy who have oddly always shared a passion for house and techno when all of our mates were listening to surf rock. We would swap CD’s share new sets and try and figure out how to rip them off the net.. The path to stardom for these guys didn’t come as easy as you would all think. I remember Fish annoying THE SHIT out of Kane so he could jump on the decks and learn something new each day. Fritt’s parents would basically have to brush him out of the house with a broom. Many years playing parties for free with Sedz and travelling on next to no money for years on end. Kane’o worked small parties and clubs while working during the day to support his family as a carpenter. In a way pushing his dreams aside to provide for the Tash and new born Dusty. To see both of these guys have the success they have had has been something that often gives me goosebumps. Not only are they both exceptional at what they do but they have matured into beautiful, strong and loving family men. I never thought I would see Fish be so humble and loyal to his mates given the stardom he has received through his hard work. He worships his wife and is a role model to young men trying to navigate this crazy world. I have a feeling that Kane’o will also rise to some incredible heights given how bloody good he is as a mixer, producer and selector. It’s just a matter of time mate. Proud of you both for becoming the men you are and your friends and family love supporting you on this crazy journey.
