Day 27 Barcelona/ NYC/ Austin Breakfast in Barcelona Lunch in NYC Dinner in Austin I love travel days. This whole trip anytime it was travel days I would tell my kids it’s not about the destination it’s about the journey and would try to make travel days fun for them as well. Our Barcelona flight to NYC was smooth. I was actually really impressed at how good airplane food finally is. They served us pasta, then later on came around with some yummy chocolate ice cream and then pizza for a late snack which was delish! After that we landed in NYC and I was secretly hoping our flight would get delayed there so we could go grab a meal ;) We ate at a little steak restaurant in JFK only to realize we had just eaten at the same airport steak place a year ago. And then we finally boarded our flight from NYC to Austin and every single one of us crashed on that 3 hour flight. It was 3 am in Barcelona at this time so we were exhausted. 3 hours later we landed in a very hot Austin where it’s been 100 degrees every single day we were gone. I’m going to assume this was one of the hottest summers Austin has ever had and I am so glad I wasn’t around for most of it. But... we grabbed our last taxi home and walked into our house and the first thing we all see is the picture of Vernazza which now has a whole new meaning to all of us. Vacationing is amazing but there’s no place like home.
